Edinburgh Garden and Field of Remembrance, East Princes Street Gardens

Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, commemorates the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and of civilians in times of war. The garden of remembrance will display wreaths, military crosses with Poppy Scotland information booths on site.
The opening ceremony will be held on 30th October with the laying of wreaths by Lord Provost, MPs/MSP's, dignitaries and veterans. The Armistice Service will take place on the 11th November.

    The Christmas Market will once again return to East Princes St Gardens for a whole host of bespoke and traditional Christmas items!

    The traditional and romantic Christmas Market in the heart of the City of Edinburgh offers a unique shopping experience for every visitor with its fair of crafters, artists, gift shops and gastronomic surprises. Get into the Christmas spirit!

    Please note: markets are open from 10am - 10pm.
    Markets open at 1pm on 18 November until 6 January. (Closed 25 December, open 12pm 26 December and 1 January).

  • Mindful Peace Walk, Lauriston Castle

    This silent walking meditation is an open event. It will be led by the lay members of the Edinburgh Sangha of the Community of Interbeing, who follow the practice and teachings of Zen Buddhist Master, Thich Nhat Hanh. The walk begins in front of Lauriston Castle, 2 Cramond Road South, Edinburgh. Before the walk begins there will be a brief introduction to mindful walking as meditation practice. Children are welcome when accompanied by adults. Please remember to wrap up warmly.
