Guided walk and writing workshop, recreating Owen's walk in the Pentland Hills exactly 100 years later - to the day.
Step back in time by retracing Wilfred Owen's footsteps. Guided walk following the war poet's route 100 years ago, with optional writing workshop.
This event is the second of two walks exploring routes in the Pentland Hills taken by Wilfred Owen and friends exactly 100 years previously. The walk will be led by the Chair of Wilfred Owen Edinburgh 1917-2017, Neil McLennan. There will be an optional writing workshop at the start and end of the walk, led by professional writer Helen Boden. (Meeting place to be decide -check www.pentlandhills.org/events for updates.
The walk and workshop combined costs £8; if you would just like to attend the walk, it is £5. Booking is essential; please email email@example.com to book your place. Please note you need to have a good level of fitness, and should bring a packed lunch, waterproofs and sturdy footwear. The walk is up to five miles long. The event may be cancelled in the case of adverse weather.

This silent walking meditation is an open event. It will be led by the lay members of the Edinburgh Sangha of the Community of Interbeing, who follow the practice and teachings of Zen Buddhist Master, Thich Nhat Hanh. The walk begins in front of Lauriston Castle, 2 Cramond Road South, Edinburgh. Before the walk begins there will be a brief introduction to mindful walking as meditation practice. Children are welcome when accompanied by adults. Please remember to wrap up warmly.
