Mindful Peace Walk, Lauriston Castle

This silent walking meditation is an open event. It will be led by the lay members of the Edinburgh Sangha of the Community of Interbeing, who follow the practice and teachings of Zen Buddhist Master, Thich Nhat Hanh. The walk begins in front of Lauriston Castle, 2 Cramond Road South, Edinburgh. Before the walk begins there will be a brief introduction to mindful walking as meditation practice. Children are welcome when accompanied by adults. Please remember to wrap up warmly.

    The Ultra Tour of Edinburgh is a 55km ultra run around Edinburgh accessing the roads, paths & trails as its route and in doing so taking participants on a tour of all Edinburgh has to offer. A mass start at 07:30 on the Royal Mile and the route will take in The Royal Mile, Holyrood Park, Duddingston, Craigmillar, The Inch, Blackford Hill & The Hermitage, Bradburn Valley Park, Swanston, Pentlands, Bonaly, Water of Leith, Saughton, Corstorphine Hill, Granton, Newhaven, Leith, Warriston, Stockbridge, Dean Village finishing at Murrayfield Stadium.   • SAMHUINN FIRE FESTIVAL CALTON HILL

    The Samhuinn Fire Festival celebrates the Celtic New Year, marking the end of summer and welcoming the onset of winter. With wild drumming, acrobatics, fire-dancing and intricate costumes as dozens of volunteers act out battles between the forces of summer and winter culminating in a midnight bonfire to celebrate the start of the pagan new year.
